abstract | (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Structure] A pyrrole compound having at least one electron-withdrawing substituent and at least one hydrogen or bromine substituent is used in the presence of a solvent and at least one electron. A process for producing a chlorinated pyrrole compound, which comprises reacting with a chlorinating agent in the presence of a catalytic amount of bromine when the pyrrole compound having an attractive substituent does not have a bromine substituent on the pyrrole ring. [Effect] Chlorination of a pyrrole compound having an electron-withdrawing group is achieved in good yield. |
