titleOfInvention Method for producing modified wood
abstract (57) [Summary] [Objective] To provide a method for producing modified wood having excellent water resistance and dimensional stability. [Structure] A water-soluble epoxy compound having two or more epoxy groups in a molecule (for example, a number average molecular weight of 20) 00 or less, ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether, etc.) and a polymerization catalyst (for example, an imidazole compound) aqueous solution are impregnated, dried at a temperature lower than the temperature at which the epoxy group reacts with water, and then heated to form hydroxyl groups in wood. A method for producing modified wood, which comprises binding the epoxy compound and polymerizing and curing the epoxy compound.
