titleOfInvention | How to process photothermographic elements |
abstract | (57) Summary [Objective] To provide an improved photothermographic element and a method for improving the latent image stability of the photothermographic element. The photothermographic element provides a photosensitive silver halide, an organic silver, at a concentration such that upon imagewise exposure to actinic radiation, the silver halide produces a catalyst that promotes the image forming reaction between the organic silver salt and the reducing agent. Comprising a salt and a reducing agent, (1) imagewise exposing the element to actinic radiation to form a latent image in the element; (2) exposing the element imagewise Subjecting to a first heating step at a constant temperature and for a period of time sufficient to enhance the latent image, but not sufficient to produce a visible image, and then (3) the element to produce a visible image. Subjecting the second heating step to a constant temperature and a sufficient time sufficient for the method. |
