Short fiber. A core is composed of a biodegradable thermoplastic polymer component having a high melting point, and a sheath is composed of biodegradable short staple fibers composed of a biodegradable thermoplastic polymer component having a lower melting point than the polymer, and a constituent fiber A non-woven fabric characterized in that they are partially heat-bonded or three-dimensionally entangled. [Effect] By using the composite short fiber, it has biodegradability, excellent mechanical strength and dimensional stability, and also has excellent thermal adhesiveness, and is used as a material for sanitary materials and life-related materials. A suitable nonwoven fabric can be obtained.
