abstract (57) [Summary] [Structure] (A) (A-1) hydroxynaphthalene compound, (A-2) A polymer scale adhesion preventive agent for polymerization of a monomer having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond, which comprises an alkaline solution containing (A-2) a condensation product with an aldehyde compound and (B) an inorganic colloid. A method for producing a polymer in which polymer scale adhesion is prevented by applying the inhibitor to an inner wall surface and then performing the polymerization in a polymerization vessel in which the coating film is formed by drying. [Effect] Since the adhesion of polymer scale can be effectively prevented not only in the liquid phase part in the polymerization vessel but also in the vicinity of the interface between the gas phase and the liquid phase, when the present invention is applied to carry out polymerization. Therefore, it is not necessary to remove the polymer scale for each polymerization, and the productivity is improved. Moreover, when the obtained polymer is molded into a sheet or the like, a molded product having very few fish eyes and good initial colorability can be obtained.
