(57) [Abstract] [Purpose] A uniform coating of dye is applied to the contact lens when the lens is in the xerogel state, eliminating the problem of stains at the center of the lens, inexpensive, clean and environmentally efficient. A method for coloring a hydrophilic contact lens is provided.
