abstract (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] A uniform coating of dye is applied to the contact lens when the lens is in the xerogel state, eliminating the problem of stains at the center of the lens, inexpensive, clean and environmentally efficient. A method for coloring a hydrophilic contact lens is provided. [Structure] a) a step of preparing a contact lens containing no water, b) a step of preparing a dye solution, c) a hydrophilic polymer material containing a dye complexing agent capable of non-covalently binding a dye A step of preparing a printing plate, d) a step of arranging the dye solution on the printing plate, e) a step of contacting the printing plate with a contact lens containing no water for a time sufficient to diffuse the dye solution into the lens, f ) A method of coloring a contact lens that does not contain water, including a step of separating the lens from the printing plate.
