titleOfInvention Method for removing ionic chloride from hydroxyl-terminated siloxane
abstract (57) Summary [Objective] The present invention relates to a method for reducing the ionic chloride content in a hydroxyl-terminated siloxane. The method involves contacting a hydroxyl terminated siloxane with a molecular sieve to effectively remove residual water from the siloxane. Since the ionic chloride is strongly distributed in the aqueous phase, the ionic chloride is removed together with the aqueous phase. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a neutral solvent is used to facilitate the removal of water from the hydroxyl terminated siloxane.
