Laser scanning thermal recording material |
abstract |
(57) [Summary] [Object] To provide an image forming material having a high density image. A thermal recording material comprising a suitable substrate coated with an image forming system, wherein the image forming system comprises (a) a thermally reducible silver source; (b) a reducing agent for silver ions; c) about 5 A dye that absorbs electromagnetic waves in the wavelength range of 0 to 1100 nm; and (d) a polymerizable binder. In a preferred embodiment, the reducing agent contains a 3-indazolinone or urea compound as a development accelerator. In another preferred embodiment, the electromagnetic wave absorbing dye is a near infrared absorbing dye. In yet another exemplary embodiment, the electromagnetic absorbing dye is present in the imaging system in a layer adjacent to the layer containing the thermally reducible silver source and the reducing agent for silver ions. |
