abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a simple and economical method for producing a peptide derivative represented by Chemical formula 12 or a salt thereof which is effective as a human immunodeficiency virus protease inhibitor. As shown in Formula 1, the carboxyl group of the amino-protected carboxylic acid shown in Chemical formula 1 is protected, the amino-protecting group is deprotected, and the amino-protected amino acid shown in Chemical formula 5 is peptide-bonded. Group deprotection and peptide formation are carried out sequentially with the compounds of formula 8 and formula 11, A method for producing the peptide derivative represented by Chemical formula 12 or a salt thereof.
