(57) Summary [Objective] The present invention relates to a novel catalyst regeneration method using a reversible base for removal of acid-soluble oil accumulated in an alkylation catalyst containing a sulfone compound and hydrogen halide. A method for removing acid-soluble oil (ASO) produced as a reaction by-product in an alkylation catalyst composed of a sulfone compound used for alkylation of an olefin hydrocarbon with an isoparaffin hydrocarbon and a hydrogen halide, The catalyst is a reversible (reusable) base which is polyvinyl pyridine, an amine-substituted styrene divinylbenzene copolymer or a mixture thereof, and the catalyst A method for regenerating a catalyst, which comprises contacting under a condition suitable for removing at least a part of O 2, wherein the base is separately regenerable and reused. |
