Melt mixing method of ethylene polymers with different molecular weights |
abstract |
(57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a melt mixing method of a high molecular weight ethylene polymer and a low molecular weight ethylene polymer by a two-step method. In the first stage, a high molecular weight ethylene polymer having a viscosity of about 50,000 poise or higher and about 3,0 Melt mixing with a low molecular weight ethylene polymer having a viscosity of less than 00 poise to form a first polymer blend; and then in a second stage, additional low molecular weight ethylene polymer with the first polymer blend by melt mixing to a second polymer blend. Melt-mixing is carried out at a maximum melting point of the polymer used and about 200 ° C. above the melting point. In the method of the present invention, an intermediate molecular weight polymer is also used as a third component for the purpose of improving compatibility, and the film produced from the final polymer blend according to the present method is characterized by low gel content (fish eye). It can also be applied to thermoplastic resins. |
