Provided is a mold using a synthetic resin as a base material. [Structure] An expandable synthetic resin core material 1, a hard plate 2 adhered to one or both sides of the core material 1, a release layer 3 adhered to the surface of the hard plate, and an entire circumference or Formwork consisting of protection members 4 provided at the four corners. Further, one plate material composed of the mold release layer 3 hard plate 2 and the protective member 4 is provided inside the lower mold, and a foamable synthetic resin containing a foaming agent is filled therein. Then, a method for producing a mold, which comprises pressurizing and heating to foam an expandable synthetic resin as a core material.
