(57) [Summary] (Modified) [Constitution] Amino acid sequence Cys-Xaa 1 -Xaa 2 -Xaa 3 [wherein Cys is a cysteine amino acid, Xaa 1 may be any amino acid, and Xaa 2 is phenylalanine or p-fluorophenylalanine Xaa 3 can be any amino acid] and acts as a non-substrate inhibitor to inhibit farnesyl-protein transferase and block the transformation of normal cells into cancer cells. [Effect] This compound inhibits farnesyl-protein transferase (FTase) and farnesylation of oncogene, and is effective in treating cancer. |
