titleOfInvention | Method for improving digestibility of livestock feed substances |
abstract | (57) [Summary] [Purpose] Digestion of a new and improved livestock feed material that converts crop residues and grain particles into a form that is significantly easier to eat and digestible by ruminants using chlorite solutions at high pH. Provide a sex improvement method. [Structure] An improved method for increasing the digestibility of livestock crop residues and feed granules is described. In this method, crop residues and feed granules are treated with an aqueous chlorite solution of pH 9 or higher. However, in the case of sorghum, this solution has a pH of 6. Buffered to 5-7. The treated fine granules become a suitable feed for ruminants in that they have improved digestibility by about 50% and are non-toxic. |
