[Structure] In producing an acrylic superabsorbent resin by polymerizing a water-soluble unsaturated monomer containing (meth) acrylic acid and a water-soluble salt of (meth) acrylic acid as main components in the presence of a crosslinking agent, 0.001-0.1 parts by weight of hypophosphorous acid and / or its salt and 0.05-2 parts by weight of urea compound are made to coexist with 100 parts by weight of the water-soluble unsaturated monomer.
