(57) [Abstract] [Purpose] To prevent the image sticking phenomenon due to the hysteresis of the transmission and scattering type liquid crystal display element, and to enable the production at room temperature. [Structure] The liquid crystal dispersed and held in a resin matrix contains a phenylpyrimidine compound, the liquid crystal has a refractive index anisotropy Δn of 0.18 or more and a dielectric anisotropy Δε LC of 5 <Δε LC. The relationship between the relative dielectric constant ε M and the dielectric anisotropy Δε LC for a sufficiently low voltage equal to or less than the threshold voltage of the liquid crystal resin composite is satisfied, and Δε LC <1.45ε M. [Effect] Beautiful halftone display is possible. |
