(57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To provide a method for efficiently producing a halogenated aliphatic carboxylic acid aryl ester in a high yield while suppressing dehydrohalogenation reaction and the like. When a halogenated aliphatic carboxylic acid and an aryl alcohol are reacted to produce a halogenated aliphatic carboxylic acid aryl ester, a catalyst of the formula (I) Ti (OR) 4 ... (I) (wherein R represents a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, which may be the same or different, or an unsubstituted or linear or branched alkyl substituted aryl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms). The tetraalkoxytitanium or tetraaryloxytitanium represented is used. |
