titleOfInvention Method for producing wholly aromatic polyester / polystyrene copolymer
abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] A wholly aromatic compound that is excellent in transparency, has low optical distortion, and has excellent fluidity and mechanical strength, and is particularly suitable as a molding material for optical devices. Provided is a method for producing a polyester / polystyrene copolymer. [Structure] A styrene-based polymer (A) having an amino group at the terminal, an aromatic dihydroxy compound (B) and an aromatic dicarboxylic acid dihalide (C) are added to (A) / [(B) + (C)] is 20/80 to 80/20 (weight ratio), and is a method for producing a wholly aromatic polyester / polystyrene copolymer. [Effect] Compared with the conventional polymerization method, the content of the non-copolymerized styrene-based polymer is low, and the birefringence is low, and it can be used as a good optical instrument material. Further, it can be added to the blend of wholly aromatic polyester and styrene polymer to enhance the compatibility, tensile strength, bending strength, bending elastic modulus and the like.
