(57) [Summary] (Modified) [Structure] A branched fatty acid amide represented by the general formula (1). This compound is produced by hydrolysis of the oxazoline derivative represented by the general formula (3) or hydrogenation of the branched fatty acid amide represented by the general formula (6). [M and n each represent an integer of 0 to 19, and the sum thereof is 0 to 19. [Effect] The branched fatty acid amide (1) or (6) has excellent lubricity, excellent compatibility with most solvents, and is uniformly dispersed in water. It is extremely useful as a base for cosmetics, an emulsifier, a lubricant and the like. |
