abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide an HST2 protein having an activity of promoting the growth of animal cells and a method for producing the protein by a gene recombination technique. [Structure] Cosmid vector L containing HST2 gene A cDNA library derived from RNA of mouse cells transformed with YH-4 was prepared. From this, HST2 was prepared. Isolation of the plasmid containing cDNA and determination of the nucleotide sequence (SEQ ID NOs: 4 to 6) were performed. From the transformed cell culture, A strong cell growth promoting activity fraction is obtained. [Effect] The HST2 protein can be stably obtained in high purity in a large amount, and this HST2 protein can be used for wound healing and repair of myocardium and nerve tissue after ischemia.
