titleOfInvention Optically active difluorocyclopropane derivative, liquid crystal composition containing the same, and liquid crystal display device
abstract (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Structure] General formula I, eg formula II 1. An optically active difluorocyclopropane derivative, a ferroelectric liquid crystal composition containing this compound, and a liquid crystal display device using the same. [Effect] This compound has a low viscosity and can induce a large spontaneous polarization by adding a small amount to the host liquid crystal, and by using this, a ferroelectric liquid crystal composition capable of high-speed response in a wide temperature range can be obtained. Further, this compound is also excellent in chemical stability against water, light and the like, and is useful as a material for a liquid crystal optical switching element for display.
