(57) [Summary] [Purpose] To provide a magnetic recording medium having good dispersion of ferromagnetic powder and excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristics and running durability in good balance. In a magnetic recording medium having a magnetic layer on a non-magnetic support, the magnetic layer has a stearic acid adsorption amount of 20 to 200 mg and a stearylamine adsorption amount of 5 g per 1 g of the ferromagnetic powder. A ferromagnetic powder having a water content of ˜50 mg and a water content of 0.3 to 1.5% and a binder comprising a vinyl chloride copolymer containing a negative functional group of 0.01 to 0.50 mmol / g and a polyurethane resin are contained. |
