titleOfInvention Pyridine derivative and liquid crystal composition
abstract (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Purpose] To develop a novel pyridine-based liquid crystal to obtain a liquid crystal composition with a large Δn. [Structure] As a novel liquid crystal substance, pyridine-stilbene type liquid crystal containing a compound represented by the general formula shown was developed, and the physical properties of the liquid crystal were measured. As a result, it was found that the liquid crystal group has a large Δn, and that addition to a conventional liquid crystal composition is effective in increasing the Δn. [Wherein R represents hydrogen or a C 1-12 alkyl group or alkoxy group, X and Y represent hydrogen, halogen or CN, and Z represents a C 1-12 alkyl group or alkoxy group, halogen or CN. Show]
