abstract (57) [Summary] [Structure] The present invention comprises: a) almost spherical shape with a diameter of about 60 ± 50 μm, b) infinite subculture, c) survival of nerve cells, Growth, production of a novel factor that promotes neurite outgrowth, and release into culture supernatant, is a rat brain microglial cell line having the above properties, which incorporates an infinitely proliferating gene in the gene of rat brain microglia. This is a method for establishing rat brain microglia cell lines. Further, it is a culture supernatant and a cell homogenate of a rat brain microglial cell line containing a novel neurotrophic factor that promotes survival, growth and neurite outgrowth of nerve cells. [Effects] Large-scale culture of rat brain microglial cell lines can produce large amounts of novel neurotrophic factors that promote survival, growth, and neurite outgrowth of nerve cells, and treatment of brain diseases associated with nerve cell dysfunction Useful substance can be obtained.
