abstract (57) [Summary] [Objective] In the column purification of fats and oils, high-quality fats and oils are obtained without a heating operation that causes deterioration of fats and oils during the process and without using a highly toxic organic solvent. [Structure] Oils and fats are dissolved in liquefied carbon dioxide, and this is passed under a liquid condition through a column filled with a packing material. The resulting effluent is kept at room temperature under normal pressure or reduced pressure to remove carbon dioxide and obtain refined oil and fat.
