titleOfInvention | Signal delay assembly |
abstract | (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Purpose] Controls the speed of pressure acting on a signal delay assembly for use with a detonator or a signal transmission tube delay device to provide an accurately predictable function time and reliability. And hold a delayed squib pyrotechnic composition that reacts reliably. The delay squib ignition cushioning member 45 includes a transfer tube 11 in the detonator housing 15 or the signal transfer tube housing. And the delay squib 25. The cushioning member controlled the rate at which the transfer tube temperature / pressure pulse acted on the surface of the delayed squib pyrotechnic composition to dampen the effect of the pulse to provide accurate delay timing. The cushioning member dampens the effects of sudden decompression in the detonator due to rupture of the transfer tube or ejection of the tube from the housing. This prevents separation of the reactive fireworks composition. If unisolated and separated, the reaction will stop at the point of separation, thus causing a delayed squib failure which should continue the combustion of the pyrotechnic composition over its length. |
