abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] The purpose of this invention is to efficiently separate the filling that is discarded with the contents into a container and the contents, and to recycle the food contained therein to provide it as a feed equivalent. [Composition] In order to separate the food inside from the metal can and turn it into a useful by-product, the can is cut into metal strips to expose the food inside, and liquid jetting is performed prior to magnetic separation. Along a vibrating conveyor, the food and metal strips of content are collected separately for removal and stripping of metal strips from food. In order to convert the content food into animal feed, the content is first dried and its water content reduced by mechanical dehydration or by the addition of extenders and then sent through an extruder to remove the content of the content. Foods are those that can be converted to dry particle form.
