abstract | (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Purpose] Ultrafine particles have high dispersibility in ferromagnetic powder and can be highly filled, and have good compatibility with polyurethane resin. A novel magnetic recording medium having excellent properties is developed by developing a copolymer which is excellent in reactivity with a polyisocyanate curing agent, has a high gel fraction, and gives a binder having good coating physical properties. In a magnetic recording medium comprising a magnetic layer in which ferromagnetic fine powder is dispersed in a binder on a non-magnetic support, the binder is (a) vinyl chloride unit, (b) fatty acid vinyl unit, (C) A vinyl chloride copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a vinyl alcohol unit, (D) an epoxy group-containing monomer unit, and (V) an amine-modified vinyl unit in the presence of a persulfate polymerization initiator as essential components. A magnetic recording medium characterized by using a coalescing agent as a main component. |
