(57) [Summary] [Structure] A bisbiguanide compound represented by the following formula I and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof: (In the formula, n represents an integer of 3 to 10). [Effect] The bactericide provided by the present invention has a broad antibacterial spectrum, is comparable to chlorohexidine which has been conventionally used as a bactericidal disinfectant, and is superior in immediate effect as compared with chlorohexidine. Excellent bactericidal activity against low Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Therefore, it is useful as a bactericidal agent for medical field, especially as a bactericidal agent for skin / apparatus. Further, since the practical concentration of the bactericide is usually defined by the bactericidal activity against the bacterial species for which the bactericide is hard to act, the bactericide provided by the present invention can be used at a low concentration with less irritation to mucous membranes. It is expected that it can be applied to mucosa, which is prohibited by chlorohexidine. |
