abstract | (57) [Summary] [Objective] To provide a method for reducing the reaction between polydiorganosiloxane gum and reinforcing silica, which causes creep. The crude polydiorganocyclosiloxane and potassium or cesium carbonate or bicarbonate are mixed, the mixture is heated and then filtered to remove the salt. By further stripping this treated product, a polydiorganocyclosiloxane having a hydroxyl group content of 1 ppm or less based on the polydiorganocyclosiloxane can be obtained. The polydiorganocyclosiloxane, the triorganosiloxy end-capping agent and the polymerization catalyst are mixed and heated to polymerize, after which the catalyst is neutralized and cooled. |
