(57) [Abstract] [Purpose] By adding carbon fiber to the positive electrode active material of an alkaline storage battery, the cost is reduced and the high rate discharge characteristics are improved. [Structure] A positive electrode plate is prepared by using nickel hydroxide as a positive electrode active material, carbon fibers having an aspect ratio of 3 to 10 as a conductive agent, and polyvinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer or water glass as a binder. [Effect] The cost of the battery can be reduced by significantly reducing the amount of expensive cobalt hydroxide, and by combining the conductive agent of the present invention and the binder to form the positive electrode active material, high efficiency can be obtained. The discharge characteristics are improved. |
