titleOfInvention Method for producing 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene
abstract (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Objective] To provide an industrial method capable of efficiently producing 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene with high purity. [Issue] (i) Isomerization of 1,5-dimethylnaphthylene to obtain a dimethylnaphthalene isomer mixture containing 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene, 1,6-dimethylnaphthalene and 1,5-dimethylnaphthalene Process, (ii) The resulting isomer mixture is subjected to a distillation treatment to separate a substance having a lower boiling point than dimethylnaphthalene and a substance having a higher boiling point than methylnaphthalene, (iii) the obtained dimethylnaphthalene isomer mixture is represented by the general formula (R 1 and R 2 are lower alkyl groups, m is 0 or 1) is adsorbed and separated using a Y-type zeolite adsorbent in the presence of a desorbent, and 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene is separated as a raffinate. A method for producing 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene, which comprises an adsorption separation step of separating other dimethylnaphthalene as an extract.
