abstract | (57) [Summary] [A] Olefin polymerization catalyst comprising a product obtained by contacting [A] metallocene-based transition metal compound [B] silicate or zeolite and [C] organoaluminum compound, and A process for producing an olefin polymer, which comprises homopolymerizing or copolymerizing an olefin in the presence of a catalyst and optionally [D] an organoaluminum compound. [Effect] According to the method of the present invention, when applied to copolymerization of two or more kinds of olefins having a narrow molecular weight distribution, an olefin polymer having a narrow molecular weight distribution and a narrow composition distribution can be obtained with extremely high polymerization activity. Therefore, it is not necessary to remove the catalyst residue from the obtained polymer, which is industrially useful. |
