abstract (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] To provide an image recording apparatus excellent in image quality. [Structure] A photosensitive capsule 41 is applied onto a recording drum 30 by an applying unit 40. Then photosensitive capsule 4 The photosensitive layer 41 is formed into a single layer by the layer regulating blade 44. When pressure development is performed by the pressure roller 51 and the recording drum 30 after exposure, the cured photosensitive capsule and the ruptured capsule wall are sufficiently held by the drum 30. Therefore, good images can always be recorded without the surplus material being transferred to the sheet 72 of the image receiver.
