titleOfInvention | Flame-retardant polyphenylene ether composition |
abstract | (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a more excellent flame-retardant polyphenylene ether composition. The polyphenylene ether composition comprises about 70 to about 99 wt% of polyphenylene ether and about 1 to about 30 wt% of liquid polydiorganosiloxane and filler mixed as a free flowing powder in the polyphenylene ether. And the formulation. The liquid polydiorganosiloxane in the formulation is about 0.25 to about 4% by weight of the polyphenylene ether composition. The filler is clay, fumed titanium dioxide or the like. The polyphenylene ether is, for example, an oxidative coupling product of 2,6-xylenol. The liquid polydiorganosiloxane is, for example, liquid polydimethylsiloxane, and by treating the filler with it, the flame retardancy of the composition is further enhanced. |
