titleOfInvention Battery separator
abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a battery separator having a property of losing its ion permeability and blocking an electric current when heated to a predetermined temperature or higher. A battery separator according to the present invention is composed of a first polymer having a predetermined melting temperature, a porous polymer layer having fine pores therein, and inside the fine pores of the porous polymer layer. A second polymer that is present and has a predetermined melting temperature that is lower than the melting temperature of the first polymer, and the relative amount of the second polymer to the first polymer is above a certain temperature. Before heating, the second polymer exists in a state where it does not block the fine pores, but when heated to a certain temperature or higher, the second polymer melts and closes the inside of the fine pores, It is characterized in that the ion permeability is lost and the current is cut off.
