abstract | (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] It can be driven at a low voltage of 10 Vrms or less, A liquid crystal-polymer composite film having sufficient contrast and response time and a method for producing the same are provided. [Structure] The liquid crystal-polymer composite film is composed of a liquid crystal low-molecular compound and a high-molecular compound in a phase-separated state, and the high-molecular compound is obtained by polymerizing one or more polymerizable components. The sexual component includes a reactive silicone. Then, after preparing a mixture of the liquid crystal low-molecular compound and the polymerizable composition containing a silicone monomer or oligomer substituted with a reactive functional group such as an epoxy group or an acrylate group, the polymerizable composition is polymerized. Thus, a liquid crystal-polymer composite film can be manufactured. [Effect] The liquid crystal-polymer composite film can be applied to time-division driving, and can also be applied to an active matrix type display device using a TFT or MIM. |
