abstract | (57) [Summary] [Purpose] To obtain a pipe sealing welding method and apparatus capable of preventing the occurrence of blistering defects, indentation defects and the like during welding. [Structure] A tube whose one end is sealed is filled with a solid substance and gas or only gas, and then an end plug 6 is attached to the open end of the pipe, and the end plug and the pipe are hermetically welded. The external pressure applied to the pipe is increased stepwise or continuously with the lapse of welding time in response to the rise in the pipe pressure. |
