Magnetic recording medium |
abstract |
(57) [Abstract] [Purpose] Electromagnetic conversion characteristics are good, and running stability and running durability are excellent. Especially, the shortest recording wavelength is 1.5 μm. To provide a magnetic recording medium excellent in overwriting characteristics at high recording density and excellent in running reliability in a disk medium used in the following high recording density, and a manufacturing method thereof. In a magnetic recording medium, a non-magnetic layer mainly composed of non-magnetic powder and a binder resin and a magnetic layer mainly composed of ferromagnetic powder and a binder resin are formed on a non-magnetic support in this order. The magnetic layer has a thickness of 0.6 μm or less, and the magnetic layer is formed by applying the non-magnetic layer coating solution on the non-magnetic support and then applying the coating layer in a wet state. The Young's modulus of the magnetic layer is 95% or less of the Young's modulus of the non-magnetic layer, and the glass transition temperature of the magnetic layer is It is lower than the glass transition temperature of the non-magnetic layer. |
