(57) [Summary] (Modified) [Purpose] To provide a new sensor for measuring the concentration of an analyte in a medium. A sensor for measuring the concentration of an analyte in a medium, the matrix material 20 being permeable to the analyte in the medium, and responsive to each being exposed to a first excitation signal. A sensing element 20 comprising one or more monomer indicating components that provide a first emission signal of a predetermined wavelength, the sensing element being longer than the first emission signal in response to being exposed to the second excitation signal. A second radiation signal having a wavelength is provided. An excitation device 14 for providing a first excitation signal and a second excitation signal to a sensing element 20, a detection device 16 for detecting one or more first and second emission signals, and one or more first It has a processor 17 for analyzing the first and second emission signals to determine the concentration of the analyte in the medium. |
