abstract (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Purpose] Tetrazole derivatives having aldose reductase inhibition and therapeutic and preventive effects on diabetic complications, a process for producing the same, and an aldose reductase inhibitor containing the derivative as an active ingredient. .. [Structure] Formula [I] [Wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, A represents a C 2-7 -alkylene group, and Ar is a (substituted) phenyl group, naphthyl group, furyl group, thienyl group, benzofuryl group and benzothienyl group, respectively. Indicates. ] The compound shown by these, its manufacturing method, and aldose reductase inhibitory activity. [Effect] The sciatic nerve and lens of the rat to which the above compound was orally administered were removed and the amount of sorbitol accumulated was measured. As a result, an excellent sorbitol accumulation inhibition rate was shown.
