titleOfInvention Acid Leaching of Copper Ore with Fluoroaliphatic Surfactants
abstract (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Purpose] To improve the copper recovery rate in the method of leaching copper from an agglomerate of low grade copper oxide ore with acid solution. [Composition] A low-grade copper ore agglomerate (possibly pretreated with concentrated sulfuric acid) is brought into contact with dilute sulfuric acid by means of a mist, and the acid solution is allowed to drip or penetrate through the agglomerate. Collecting the resulting rich aqueous solution; and transferring the copper metal from the rich aqueous solution to an organic medium containing the ion exchange composition from which the copper is recovered, for example, by transferring to an aqueous stripping solution followed by electric field sampling. At this time, a sufficient amount of the fluoroaliphatic surfactant is dissolved in the leaching aqueous solution.
