abstract (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Objective] To provide a liquid crystal composition having high birefringence and very high specific resistance. A terminal comprising about 20-90% by weight of one or more compounds from group A1 of formula (I) and about 10-40% by weight of one or more compounds from group A2 of formula (II). And a nematic liquid crystal composition based on a lateral halogenated compound. (R 1 C 2 ~ 7 straight-chain alkyl, alkenyl or oxaalkyl group; l is 0 or 1; Q 1 is One or more of the 1,4-phenylene groups of the compounds of group A1 may have a total of 1, 2 or 3 lateral fluoro substituents) and about 10 40% by weight of A2 group: (R 1 and l are as defined above; one or two of the 1,4-phenylene groups of the compounds of group A2 may have a total of 1, 2 or 3 lateral fluoro substituents)
