A dye-donor element used by thermal dye sublimation transfer comprising a support having a dye layer on one side and a heat-resistant layer on the other side, said heat-resistant layer corresponding to formula (I) Containing a polycarbonate derived from bis- (hydroxyphenyl) -cycloalkane (diphenol): In the formula, R 1 and R 2 are the same or different and each represents hydrogen, halogen, a C 1 to C 8 alkyl group, a C 5 to C 6 cycloalkyl group, a C 6 to C 10 aryl group, or a C 7 to C 12 aralkyl group. 5 is substituted with one or more C 1 -C 6 alkyl groups or 5- or 6-membered cycloalkyl groups or carries fused 5- or 6-membered cycloalkyl groups. Represents the atoms necessary to close an 8-membered aliphatic ring.
