abstract (57) [Summary] [Objective] To elucidate the mechanism of human PACAP38 gene expression and the method of its induction. [Structure] Human PACAP38 genomic DNA was isolated from a human DNA library and its nucleotide sequence was determined. [Effect] Human PAC is obtained by using gene recombination technology based on the nucleotide sequence of human PACAP38 genomic DNA. The relationship between introns and exons was clarified by allowing the induction of AP38 and comparing the structure with the cDNA of human PACAP38 cloned earlier. It became possible to predict the promoter region essential for gene expression.
