titleOfInvention | Method for producing thermal liquid crystal polyester |
abstract | (57) [Summary] [Structure] Polyethylene naphthalate, hydroxyaromatic carboxylic acid containing 6-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid, and an anhydride of a lower aliphatic acid are reacted to produce a thermal liquid crystal polyester. The amount of the lower aliphatic acid anhydride used is 1.02 to 1.50 times the equivalent of the hydroxyaromatic carboxylic acid. Until the reaction rate of the hydroxy aromatic carboxylic acid becomes 95 mol% or more, 100 to 150 ° C. in the presence of a solvent. Then, the reaction is carried out at a temperature exceeding 150 ° C. [Effect] A thermo-liquid crystal polyester excellent in moldability and gas barrier property can be obtained at a high reaction rate without inclusion of foreign matter. |
