abstract | (57) [Summary] [Structure] Nitrophenol was prepared with water, and then an alkyl halide and a hydrogen halide-bonding compound were simultaneously added to add nitrophenol in the alkyl halide and water as a reaction medium. A nitrophenyl alkyl ether is prepared by reacting. Effect The simultaneous metered addition of alkylating agent and hydrogen halide-bonding compound increases safety, since the steady state of nitrophenolate is kept very low. The use of water as the sole reaction medium has a number of safety advantages compared to the flammable organic solvents previously used. The use of water as the reaction medium also allows the wash water produced during the finishing of one reaction batch to be returned to the reaction of the subsequent batch. |
