abstract | (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a method for producing a flame-resistant polyester having no coloration, which can provide molded products such as fibers, films and boards having excellent flame resistance and various physical properties. [Structure] A method for producing a flame-resistant polyester by reacting an unsaturated carboxylic acid or an ester-forming derivative thereof with an organic phosphorus compound together with a polyester-forming raw material, and producing an flame-resistant polyester, wherein an alkali metal compound and an alkaline earth metal are used. One or more compounds selected from the group consisting of compounds are used as a catalyst, and a phosphorus compound (I) represented by the following general formula is added before polycondensation. [Chemical 1] (In the formula, R 1 and R 2 are the same or different groups selected from a hydroxyl group, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group and an aryloxy group, and R 1 and R 2 form a ring with each other. R 3 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group, and n is 0 or 1.) |
