abstract (57) [Abstract] [Objective] Method for producing optically active amino acid amide [Structure] All or part of a mixture of L-amino acid amide and D-amino acid amide in a suitable solvent in the presence of aldehyde A method of converting an amino acid amide into a salt of a carboxylic acid with an optically active carboxylic acid and separating a portion of the salt mainly consisting of one of the diastereoisomers from the resulting reaction mixture. Water is added to the mixture to bring the amount of aldehyde to 0.5-4 equivalents relative to the amount of amino acid amide.
