abstract | (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] To provide a display device having a sharp contrast with a sharp change in transmittance due to voltage application. Moreover, a large-capacity display having these excellent characteristics is provided. [Structure] In a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal display device, a thermoplastic resin, a thermosetting resin, or a polymer liquid crystal is used as a matrix and is aligned with the liquid crystal. Further, this display element is combined with the composite 2-terminal element or 3-terminal element substrate in the reflection mode. [Effect] Using various polymers, it has become possible to fabricate a display element having a sharp contrast with a sharp change in transmittance due to voltage application. Further, it has become possible to provide a large-capacity display having these excellent characteristics. |
